My stay at Hostel Downtownmate had its ups and downs. The cheap price and great location were a definite plus, but some issues really impacted my experience. I encountered problems with the accommodations and facilities that left a negative impression.

I booked a double room but was told they had no room for me. They offered two dorm beds instead, which felt like a downgrade. The private room I later saw was a bit better, but still small and not very well equipped.
